This summer break has created a couple of firsts for me (despite being limited to a one week time frame) - my first Christmas celebration, my first trip to Venus Bay, and my first pipi-catching adventure. I have witnessed myself return to my childhood innocence; grinning ear to ear when I found my first pipi; and laughing delightedly as I found myself drenched in the water whilst harvesting. What a feeling it is, to just forget about all the worries in the world. I have forgotten how much I loved the ocean; the sensual feeling of sand between your toes while the waves which reach the shoreline caress your feet.
2016, you have been good. I have loved every moment of it.
